National Inquiry into Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

We are currently campaigning to ensure that Scotland is either included in the current National Inquiry into Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, or conducts it's own Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation. It is important that survivors of Scotland are not excluded and those that were trafficked across borders and impacted by jurisdictional changes are counted. Some of the members of Scotland CSE Survivors have not just been groomed, trafficked and sexually exploited in Scotland but elsewhere in the UK and hold criminal convictions gained through misidentification by police. Police Scotland data collection and recording processes do not align with the rest of the UK, whilst Scotland is not referenced  within the CASEY Audit to ensure data collection and analysis is robust it must not be skewed by bias towards place based politics, nested deprivation or postcode lottery. Lessons cannot be learned, best poractice cannot be developed and victims will not be protected unless an inclusive nationwide investigation is undertaken.
